Best time to visit

DHR (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway)

Visit the DHR station in Darjeeling and book yourself a ticket to the heritage Toy Train. The Toy Train still runs through Darjeeling and the route is decided upon the conditions of the roads then. There are three DHR museums in Ghoom, Kurseong and Sukna which can also be visited for a brief knowledge of the heritage of the two feet narrow gauge Toy Train. The DHR has also been declared a UNESCO heritage site which must be preserved well.

The Mall and the Chowrasta

The Mall is one of the most visited places in Darjeeling which is situated in the epicenter of the beautiful Darjeeling. The U shaped road stretch is known for public gathering who go there to just sit down and relax in peace, sometimes doing nothing. It is one of the newest additions of the Darjeeling tourism which has gained much appreciation due to its beauty and serenity. About 7 km downhill from Ghoom, the place is very shady due to the clustered Pine Trees throughout the park and when you reach it, the fluttering Buddhist colorful flags is a sight very magical. It is also a good hangout destination for couples and also has a natural lake which can be seen after a trek of about 2 km uphill.
