This 6-day tour is aimed at taking you on a journey from the hills of Shillong, to the wettest town in the world, Cherrapunjee right to the heart of the forest of Kaziranga.
Shillong is popularly known as the Scotland of the East. Located in the undulating pine covered hills, it has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Home to several waterfalls, it is situated at a height of 1,496m. One can identify inspirations of the British legacy in the architecture and the food habits. Music is an extremely significant part of the culture which also makes Shillong the Rock Capital of India.
Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunji is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km from Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges’. The cliffs of Cherrapunji also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh.
Kaziranga National Park is a world heritage site famous for the Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools.
Best Time to Visit: November to May
Arrive Guwahati - Shillong (110 kms)
Post arrival at the Guwahati airport/railway station you will be visiting the Umium Lake en route to Shillong, popularly known as the Scotland of the East. The drive is about 3 hours long. The rest of the day can be used to discover the pubs and the food in the city.
Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (60 kms)
Your day will begin with a 2 hour drive to Cherrapunjee to visit the Seven Sister Falls, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Koh Ram Hoh and the Eco–park. While returning to Shillong, stopover to visit the Shillong peak and Elephanta Falls.
Shillong - Kaziranga (320 kms 7 hrs approx.)
Today you will be driving to Kaziranga from Shillong to visit the world famous Kaziranga National Park. It is a world heritage site famous situated about 7 hours away from Shillong. One can spot a number of animals like tigers, elephants, Wild Water Buffalo, Swamp Deer or even the Great One Horned Rhino if lucky.
Put your jungle boots on for an early morning elephant ride at the park & return to the hotel for breakfast. Later a Jeep Safari in the Central range of the park awaits you
- Tour package cost includes 1 round Jeep Safari and Elephant ride in Kaziranga for 1 person
Kaziranga – Guwahati (230 kms 4 hrs approx.)
After breakfast, you will be heading back to Guwahati from Kaziranga. During the afternoon, you will be taken to the Kamakhya Temple, dedicated to goddess Kamakhya, on Nilachal hill.
After breakfast transfer to the airport/railway station in time for onward connection.

- Any increase in the govt. taxes and state taxes
- Anything not mentioned in the itinerary.
Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:
- 16 days to prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
- 15 days to 01 days prior to arrival or no show – 100% of the tour/service cost.
Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.
