Arrive Guwahati by air. On your arrival meet your driver at the airport and drive towards Bhalukpong. On arrival check into hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive towards Dirang. Enroute stop and walk through some tribal villages in the town. On arrival to Dirang check into hotel. Evening explore the local town on foot. Overnight stay.
Morning visit Dirang Dzong or Dirang fort was built in the 17th century to protect Bomdila from the neighboring states. In fact during the infamous Vietnam War, the fort was used as a jail and in world war period, this fort was used as a shelter. The entrance wooden gate is decorated with local architectural designs and is definitely an eye catcher.
Later go for a trip to Sangti Valley for a day trip. This valley is surrounded by the towering ranges of Eastern Himalayas, blessed with pleasant weather round the year with maybe some light snowfall in the winter months, covered with fruit orchards (kiwi fruit, apple, apricot, orange), dotted with pristine forests and meandering fast hill rivers and home to a very interesting culture and tradition. And it is also home to the black necked cranes that come to the fields of this valley every winter from China during the months of November and December. Overnight stay in Dirang.
After breakfast check out from hotel and then set off towards Nameri National Park. We shall pass through some of the most mesmerizing landscapes of Assam and green paddy fields. On arrival check in to Eco Camp - tents or thatched cottages all of which back into private bathrooms that have hot water geysers. Evening on your own.
Nameri National Park – Gateway for nature lovers & a beautiful place located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. Total area of the park is about 137 Km2. The habitat of Nameri is made up of tropical evergreen, Semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests with cane and bamboo brakes and narrow strips of open grassland along rivers. Grassland comprise of less than 10% of the total area of the park while the semi-evergreen and moist deciduous species dominate the area. The JiaBhareli River flows along the park’s western and southern boundaries.
This morning we shall check out and drive to then drive towards Ziro – the home of the Apatani tribe. On your arrival check into hotel. Overnight.
Today we shall spend the day visiting Apatani villages as Hong, Dutta &Hari. In these villages, we shall see the houses of Apatani adjoining each other also interact with the locals and especially with the tattooed elder who still leave a very much traditional life. Later visit the Apatani farms. We shall also visit the local market. Later visit to the local market can be informative about knowing more about Apatani culture, customs, eating habits, attires and ornaments.
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive towards Tezpur. On arrival to Tezpur check into hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport to board flight for your onward journey.
