Hemkund Sahib is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, and finds mention in Dasam Granth. The pilgrimage site is located in the Himalaya Mountains at an elevation of 4632 meters (15,200 ft). The main town near Govindghat is Joshimath. Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara of the Sikh community, perched at a height of 4,329 mts above sea level.
